Jack McPherrin

Jack McPherrin is Research & Policy Director of Our Republic, which he co-founded with Justin Haskins and Donald Kendal in 2025. McPherrin is a widely published writer, editor, researcher, and analyst. He leads Our Republic’s research efforts on a variety of important, emerging issues, with an emphasis on topics that threaten the institutions, values, and principles on which the United States was founded and must continue to uphold. Additionally, McPherrin manages Our Republic’s policy analysis and government outreach efforts, educating lawmakers on emerging public policy issues and advocating for pro-liberty solutions on the most important topics of the day.

McPherrin also regularly writes opinion and analysis articles for various external publications and news outlets, and has been published in The Hill, FoxNews.com, The Washington Times, TheBlaze.com, The Epoch Times, Daily Caller, and Townhall, among others. His research and writing has been featured, discussed, or cited by prominent media figures and conservative commentators including Glenn Beck, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Jesse Watters, Liz Wheeler, and Dan Bongino.

McPherrin began his work in public policy at The Heartland Institute in 2021 while completing his graduate degree, and remains a Heartland research fellow as well as Heartland’s research editor.

McPherrin earned a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Loyola University-Chicago in 2022, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from Boston College in 2013. Prior to his tenure at Our Republic and the completion of his graduate degree, Jack worked in the private sector in Chicago, where he still resides.
